Single Review: Jonny Craig - 'Cry Me A River' (Cover)
Jonny Craig (Slaves, ex Emarosa) gives his take on a Justin Timberlake classic with an acoustic cover of ‘Cry Me A River’. While the cover is the same tempo as the original, the synths are replaced with simple guitar picking and vocal echoes that adds intricacy and depth to an otherwise simple performance. Though Craig’s voice is lower than Timberlake’s, he has the perfect range to hit the notes necessary to imitate the original vibe. It’s soft and calming, slipping the song from the pop charts to an alternative acoustic hit.
