EP Review: I Prevail - Heart vs. Mind

Post-hardcore newcomers I Prevail are making an impact on the scene with debut EP Heart vs. Mind. The band’s influences include names such as A Day To Remember, Bring Me the Horizon, and We Came As Romans, and their compositions most definitely reflect this.

Their EP is a melodic combination of both clean and rough vocals, electronic elements, and more than enough heavy breakdowns worthy of a wall-of-death mosh. It includes a good variety of “I hate you” songs, catchy anthems, and an acoustic ballad to rival A Day to Remember’s ‘If It Means A Lot to You’.

Their most recent release is a hardcore cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’ that has recently hit number one on the iTunes rock charts, and has gained one million views on YouTube, propelling the band into the spotlight.
