New Single: Only The Sun by Circa Survive
Circa Survive’s ‘Only The Sun’ begins with a repetitive guitar phrase, swiftly followed by the lead solo that sweeps through with heavy reverberations and distortion. Frontman Anthony Green stretches out his vocals, holding notes for long spans in order to match up with the prolonged melody. The echoed effects cause the guitar strokes to shoot out and scatter across the audial landscape. Spacey and trippy could be two words to describe the journey through this track. It has psychedelic rock traits that put the lyrics on the backburner to focus on the overall feeling that the song provides the listener.
A riff similar to the ‘007’ theme is layered in the background on a high-pitched string, ringing out multiple times throughout the tune. It’s so prominent it wouldn’t be odd to think that the song was created for one of the films.
