Dream Line-Up, Cover Star and Interview Articles
Hey guys! I was asked a few questions and these are my answers!
My Dream Line-Up:
My line-up is as follows below. Being that it is a multi-genre festival I included artists from different genres and backgrounds but still managed to keep my absolute favorites. I am partial to post-hardcore so there may be a few more bands of that type music. I picked these certain bands because I know that they have fantastic stage presence that keeps the crowd pumped and enthralled. These artists also have a large fan base and are well known throughout the industry.
Chiodos (post-hardcore)
Chiodos has had a huge influence on the post-hardcore genre. A few of the members have had their hand in super groups such as Isles and Glaciers and Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows (DRUGS). The group has had their ups and downs, with front man Craig Owens being kicked out and reinstated about a year later. They are back and better than ever with their new album Devil.
Pierce the Veil (post-hardcore)
Pierce the Veil has been growing in popularity since their start. Their self titled genre of Mexicore blends their Mexican style heritage with their post-hardcore screams and breakdowns. Traditional Spanish sounding riffs flow in the background of front man Vic Fuentes high-pitched wails.
Biffy Clyro (Alternative Rock)
Green Day (Punk Rock)
Bring Me the Horizon (Metalcore)
A Day to Remember (Alternative)
Man Overboard (Pop-Punk)
Neon Trees (Alternative Pop)
Panic! At the Disco (Alternative Rock)
Skrillex (Dubstep)
I know Skrillex gets a bad rap but Sunny is talented. Many people out there don’t realize how difficult electronic music is to make, never less make well. Dubstep can be an underappreciated genre but gets people moving and having a good time at festivals. It should most definitely be acknowledged and included at a multi-genre type event.
My Cover Star:
Craig Owens of Chiodos
The man is super talented, there’s no doubt about it. His fans love him and after reuniting with Chiodos they are back and better than ever. Craig fronts the group, but writes most of the lyrics and plays guitar. He also has solo work as well as his work with Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows and Isles and Glaciers. He deserves to be the cover star because his new album with Chiodos is some of his best work and his story about being kicked out and reunited with the band is interesting.
